NOTES OF THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON
THURSDAY 11 SEPTEMBER 2008
The following are the main points covered at the last management committee meeting
Home Nations Competition
The Home Nations Competition held this year at Dartford FC ground at Princes Park Dartford was very well supported by Dartford Council. The mayor of Dartford took a keen interest in the competition and was present both on Friday and Saturday. On the Saturday he was accompanied by the mayor of Swanley and the leader of Dartford Council. The terrain was spacious, easy to string and proved to be popular with the players. The management committee have agreed to consider using Princes Park as a venue for a major open competition.
Brean Sands
This year was not Kent’s best performance in the Inter Regional Championships but the team managers, Corinne Cooter, Trevor Glenn and Lyn Shrimpton are to be congratulated for their efforts. The new code of conduct was taken seriously by all players and there were no untoward incidents to report. Because of the shortage of accommodation, this year was the first in which non playing guests were charged for their accommodation. The committee feels that the AGM should be asked to consider a proposal that this become standard practice for the future. The playing committee have been asked to consider and to make recommendations to the main committee regarding the replenishment of regional kit and the basis upon which this should be supplied / sold to team players.
Nord Maritime
The Management Committee recorded its grateful thanks to Mick Weston and the Lordswood PC committee for the excellent hospitality provided at this event. There was an excellent turnout of Kent teams
